The challenge

DBS needed an illustration comparison platform so that consultants and administrators could compare insurance products side by side.

Data permutations were the largest obstacle. The number of combinations across different countries was substantial, and a comparison is only meaningful when the collection and processing underneath it are consistent. Consistency across markets was not a given.

Summarising the result was the second problem. Condensing diverse product data into a chart that reads at a glance took longer than displaying it would have.

What we did

An adaptive framework instead of a fixed schema. The data structures would keep differing, and a rigid model would need rebuilding every time one changed.

The outcome

Consultants and administrators compare insurance products across markets from one place, and take the summary into Excel where the work continues.

Comparison is a data-consistency problem before it is an interface problem, and no amount of interface work compensates for the permutations underneath.
